The immoral compass of humanity

Posted on 11:49 AM by Unknown
I see some have been talking about the misfortune of kids in Syria. While the crimes being committed are unimaginable and unforgivable, the US should not go in. This will eventually evolve to boots in the ground where again the US is not welcomed and shot by both sides. This is evident as they demand US to go in kill the other side, but is there manifestations of support for US to go in? You know Us flags in the streets, cheering US/Obama to go in? Easy to later see the US flag and/or president effigy burning.

Why other Muslim countries are not going in, or speaking up and backing the US to go in? (Saudis are doing it but silently). Are people in other countries demonstrating support for US intervention? Right now children in Syria are either being killed or their parents, leaving them orphans. This is very sad and unforgivable, but soldiers also have children and those children also would hate to not have a father or mother. Soldiers that eventually go in, will end up being shot by both sides! Intervention without thinking of the consequences would be an action that would irresponsible to our country.

Syrians should demand help from countries they do like, like Iran, Iraq, Russia, and go burn their flag and called them cowards for not only not going in and helping, but for helping to keep a mass murderer like Assad in power and blocking efforts from countries willing to assist. Where is the flag and effigy burning for Putin, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Hassan Rouhani, and many others or their flags.

The moral compass of the world is messed up, but that does not make it right for kids here to grow without parents too. Want to see views of each country take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_reactions_to_the_Syrian_civil_war

Although this commentary (http://www.theglobalist.com/selective-morality-syria/) is right, in regards of who is the US to talk about wrong doing; that is a weak argument for not intervening. They have done wrong therefore should not intervene when a crime is being done? The wrongdoing of Assad is unforgivable but US involvement at this time in that place is not helpful and will only cause more agitation and death. Countries that in the past have provided support to Syria, have to assist Syria and stop their silence and cooperation. Not sure who thinks the regime can get itself back to normal business and continue benefiting from their misfortune? I would think the Syrian population thinks it has gone to far for the population to move on. Well I know my blabbering will not accomplish anything but I do wish someone had a magic wand and was able to fix this. Could requiring a higher level of education to people in government help avoid this disasters?

Labor pains... can congress act?

Posted on 11:14 AM by Unknown
For low income jobs is better to be unemployed, there has to be a change? Maybe a congress with a bit more of either intelligence or common sense (I know likely asking for a miracle), that could right this wrong! Oh yeah but let's go attack another country while our house is falling apart?

Religious freedom or privilege!

Posted on 6:12 AM by Unknown
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/08/20/irs-faces-lawsuit-for-failing-to-enforce-church-electioneering-ban/
I am so happy this group is suing the IRS. Catholic, mormon, or other churches and other religious groups spending money in politics without consequences is unfair.
They want to have a voice on political discussions pay your taxes! Remember no taxation without representation? they have representation without taxation! That is a good deal for them but not for others.
Religious groups come out in support of a candidate, then the general population due to fanaticism or laziness and without thinking vote for that candidate based on religion not on merit. Leading to election of a politician, that is due to religion and because of the narrow views that the religious group has and not the good of the majority

Accomplices to the recession, will they be held accountable an pay?

Posted on 7:44 AM by Unknown
http://ca.reuters.com/article/businessNews/idCABRE97E05Q20130815.

Finally will get to see if any of the accomplices of the investment banks and mortgage lenders are held accountable.  I hope this trial gives more information in the collusion that exist between investment banks, mortgage lenders and the agencies that rate them.  Which kept saying this investments were AAA all the way until it was too late....well I suppose it could have been all the way to a depression.

Despite the importance of this issue the main media has not even brushed the news. Why?

Additionally with the light shed on this issue, hopefully some regulation could be put in place, to prevent banks paying rating agencies for the grade they get. Is like you paying your teacher so he grades you as you like, then you pay them generously.  Which teacher would not give you an A+?

Study finds Religious people are less intelligent

Posted on 7:00 PM by Unknown
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/religious-people-are-less-intelligent-than-atheists--study-finds--113350723.html
Well this just confirms what I suspected. Believing someone would create us from nothing for his pleasure and amusement is just silly. If  that were to be truth why to wait so long and not provide the Bible to so many brilliant people like Mayans, Egyptians Aztecs? Weren't them god's children? Were they not worth of god time and effort? how if he created them?

Additionally if you consider that an addiction is a weakness of mind, well the statement that religion is the opium of humanity points to what is clear, persons that want to believe on a God responsible for what happens to them, can then justify their lack of effort, entrepreneurship, work, thought to someone else but themselves.

This clearly explains why fanatics of religion have done and do the stupid things they do, like the terrible things the inquisition did, the conquest of america or current terrorist acts. You never here the terrorist was a smart, intelligent well educated person always a maladjusted, uneducated, fanatic person looking for their 'reward" on the "next life".

Religious people judging other people from a different religious affiliation is just like watching dumb and dumber and dumber pointing the finger to dumb, saying you are crazy, will go to hell and due to believing on what I do not believe... well I'll need to kill you? Because your mere existence is an abomination to the god that made them both? Any of this makes sense? Insanity or stupidity I say the latter!

Republican intelligence is it a unicorn or really could exist?

Posted on 6:45 PM by Unknown
“I will bet you, for most of you, you go home in the next two weeks when your members of Congress are home, and you look them in the eye and you say, ‘What is your positive replacement for Obamacare?’ They will have zero answer,” Gingrich said.
Gingrich blamed the problem on Republican culture that rewards obstruction and negativity instead of innovation and “being positive.”

 http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2013/08/14/newt-to-gop-weve-got-a-problem/

When some one says something intelligent like this, you might think why is he not a politician. Then you see who it was and are amazed by how coherent the guy is knowing he proposed a new state to be formed in the moon and form part of the US. Why do politicians pander the masses and listen to handlers? Not sure if is just a one hit wonder, or he really does have more than a neuron in his head and able to contribute to the nation and help the prosperity and recovery of the country.

Well hope someone listens to his uniquely truthful words within the right, the left, the center, above, below, this world and the next. As although obamacare could provide some help is not a perfect solution. To stop the only option is not only stupid but irresponsible. Someone think the only proposed solution is wrong well see what is wrong and propose something better, rather than wasting time trying to de-fund the only proposed solution. So many futile attempts have been made I would almost be certain that if instead of doing these futile attempts they would all put their heads together (despite the oligophrenia of many of our politicians) we could get something wonderful that would really take of people. But that would be utopic and would not take on account the money behind many of the political decisions that get done.

The government you deserve... The sequel

Posted on 10:21 AM by Unknown
Wow, I know there is freedom of speech, unfortunately some use that freedom to say ignorant stuff without any shame. Is at time impressive and also quite disappointing that some persons feel proud of their ignorance and furthermore that voters will elect people because of that! Again, we get the governance we deserve.....when will people start demanding knowledgeable politicians?

The government you deserve

Posted on 9:45 PM by Unknown
As you can read here ( http://thecontributor.com/economy/five-reasons-congress-should-be-deeply-ashamed-about-jobs) it seems we been electing crooks! Just out to benefit themselves and taking money from lobby groups, consequently damaging working people. You think you deserve this? if you think this is not the government you deserve, then be ready to let them know with your vote!
Do not forget your future is on their hands, elect someone that will give you a better future

What is the value of your life?..... 19 firefighters dead yet families do not get the same benefits

Posted on 4:33 PM by Unknown
There were several (19) firefighters that died fighting a fire in Yarnell Arizona. Now some of them (Ashcraft and others) are not getting death benefits and this is being decided by city administrators as they say he was not working full time. Administrators are stating because of being seasonal employees, do you think they got seasonal employment when the season was low and no fires or high and more fires? Therefore getting less benefits when working when the most work and risk there is would actually be worse for them and had earned them higher benefits no lower! Although in other areas of employments the other reasoning could apply (less work less benefits) theirs would not be the case.

It is a shame to see the bravery of these unique firefighters to be abused by cowardly pencil pushers, hiding behind their desk.

http://www.kpvi.com/content/news/story/Fallen-Arizona-firefighters-mother-seeks-death-be/bS7kbyFJikKh7ijcGH-IoA.cspx

http://www.wcsh6.com/news/national/article/251387/44/Battle-over-benefits

Well hope god, karma or other exist and hope it comes with interest and there is no pitty towards them and city administrators if god karma exist... well I do not wish ill to no one but would not feel sorry for you... Still if God or other exist well hope you come to your senses and do the right thing for such valiant people that put their life on the line for the greater good.

To their families I hope all the best for you and God, Karma or your loved one is looking over you and with all my heart hope you get what you deserve, I certainly will be sending all my vibes, prayers, good wishes towards you....

"install" a printer that has no available linux drivers in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Posted on 3:53 PM by Unknown
Well I have been happily using Ubuntu 12.04 and had installed Virtual box by using software center. Then I got a Dell C1660w LED printer and set out to simply use it. Although the steps I'll describe here are very "simple" it was in many instances frustrating, head banging might have occurred during this process; but I do not remember not sure if due to concussion or repressed memory!!! :)  Still this is a lengthy process so if you want to share any ideas, comments or better way to do it, you are encourage and welcomed to comment.

Well I was going to continue to describe my odyssey (could also be described as whining or flash back from PTSD), but you likely want to just do it and skip my artful literary description of the cephalic acceleration and deceleration against an inanimate object, therefore jump below to see an overview of how to do this.

WARNING: This is not an easy way of doing, there might be other ways of doing better than this; as in my method/approach you will have to install Virtual box then windows 7 then USB 2 support with guest additions then your printer if there is a more difficult way there probably is but this get's up there with any other method I would suspect! So buckle up for some FUN!

OK as everyone warns I am not your mommy or daddy therefore not responsible for you breaking your PC, your OS setup, your files, your head or the wall! so hope though this helps and wish you luck

1) Install virtual box via software center (the only available version for Virtualbox on my search of the software center in my PC was 4.1.12 which is an older version), and then windows 7.

2) Install the Guest additions

3) Install the Oracle Virtualbox extension pack; if you google this you'll get a lot of results with a lot of wrong answers. How I finally did it was by doing this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgYA7F4PR5k

which essentially tells you to go to:
http://download.virtualbox.org/

then to the subdirectory that contains your version of virtualbox for me was:
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.1.12/ (direct link)
download this

Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.1.12.vbox-extpack (also direct link)

4)  Close VBox, then you double click on the dowloaded file, it opens virtual box and will ask if you want to install, obviously go ahead.

5) Once installed add your user to the virtualbox group I did while battling with things so not totally sure is needed but almost sure, you can do it as the video tells you or with a terminal command which is how I did it using this:
sudo usermod -aG vboxusers <your username>

6) OK then you start VBox or if you still have it running then go to the settings section of the VM for win 7 on the USB section select USB2

7) Add a USB port selecting the printer to be added for the USB port (printer was already connected for me somewhere between step 2 and 3 but you can just connect prior to selecting the USB 2 and adding the printer.

8) Start your VM when is going into boot, see on the status line the usb icon right click and uncheck everything.

9) Once logged in, install drivers with the supplied driver disc by using the setup program, then right click on the USB icon of the VM (bottom right) and check the printer mine was Dell C1660w.

10) windows will install the USB printing port and get the driver.

11) well that should be all, check if the monitor status for the printer works send a test page if it works congrats! You have a lot of patience and perseverace, or just insanely crazy like me :(

Too big to fail? I think not, rather to big to stop!

Posted on 9:10 PM by Unknown
We heard banks were too big to fail and the dangers of not bailing them out. Now we see the dangers of having them bailed out! They are very active at creating financial and "business opportunities" and "creative" financial instruments and manipulating the market, the masses do not think how is this affecting them and pay no attention to this but if you want to get angry just read the following:

First the reason they failed:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subprime_mortgage_crisis#Mortgage_fraud_and_predatory_lending
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subprime_mortgage_crisis#High-risk_mortgage_loans_and_lending.2Fborrowing_practices
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subprime_mortgage_crisis#Inaccurate_credit_ratings

Now their persistent corrupt criminal practices:

Fixing aluminum prices:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/harold-meyerson-big-banks-dangerous-commodity-monopolies/2013/07/23/c310683e-f3c6-11e2-9434-60440856fadf_story.html?tid=rssfeed

Laundering money:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/dec/11/hsbc-bank-us-money-laundering

Fixing interest rates:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libor_scandal

Increasing/fixing electricity costs (JPMorgan):
http://www.sfgate.com/business/article/FERC-probes-JPMorgan-over-electricity-charges-3682758.php
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/05/03/us-utilities-ferc-jpmorgan-idUSBRE94210120130503

(and Barclays)
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204712904578090053851107918.html

So who will go to prison for illegal activity? how will people get compensated? How large will be the bonus this bankers will get..... probably to big to encourage their behavior! How to stop them!!!!!

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/untouchables/

The guy put in charge to stop them is afraid he would harm them, LOL such a naive looser or a corrupt official please harm them.... What a farce! freaking annoying, adding insult to injury

Howto Install Citrix client on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS!

Posted on 9:34 AM by Unknown
I needed to install citirix Receiver for Linux my system has Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Please if you are trying to install and are going to use this instructions, read everything prior to trying any of this. You might be able to skip some of the steps that I used but I do not think they are needed, any way this is to help I am not responsible for your use of it, so with that good luck!

I searched and found one page for 12.0 (this: http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver/legacy-client-software/receiver-for-linux-120.html) and one for 12.1 (http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver/linux/receiver-for-linux-121.html)

Decided to install the 12.1 deb pkg which this is the download link: http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver/linux/receiver-for-linux-121.html#ctx-dl-eula

I only downloaded it as the howto suggested to install other packages for citrix client to work.

Ok then I proceeded to install the other packages I searched for how others had installed citrix and found these pages:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CitrixICAClientHowTo
http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX125285

Therefore as ICAClient needs FFmpeg and others suggested I needed ibmotif4:i386 I installed only ibmotif4:i386 as ffmpeg was already installed (I looked in software center->installed programs and search for FFmpeg). to install libmotif4:i386 i used the following command:
sudo apt-get install libmotif4:i386

Alright then tried to install the citrix package I downloaded (went into the download folder clicked on the file, software center opened and follow instructions to install) but it would give me the following and not finish installing and would say:
Setting up icaclient (12.1.0) ... dpkg: error processing icaclient (--install): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 Processing triggers for menu ... Errors were encountered while processing: icaclient

Not only that but would not let me install anything else initially to at least fix my problem about installing other packages I used this command:
sudo apt-get remove icaclient

Which then allowed me to install other programs later I tried re-installing but would get the same problem so I searched and found this page: http://www.unixmen.com/issue-installing-citrix-client-for-ubuntu-64-bit/
but when trying to do this comand:
sudo vim /var/lib/dpkg/info/icaclient.postinst

would tell me I do not have vim. As vim is just a word processor I then just used this instead:
gksudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/info/icaclient.postinst

Which opens a text editor and the did what the instructions said which is - find:
echo $Arch|grep "i[0-9]86" >/dev/null

Pay attention that it says exactly the same as above and replace with:
echo $Arch|grep -E "i[0-9]86|x86_64" >/dev/null

save  and exit, then use this command:
sudo dpkg --configure icaclient

it may appear to do nothing but it worked now it was installed and I could also install other programs after that. So though I was done.... well NO! I wen to the website to open the citrix app and would tell me the following: Entrust.net Certification Authority (2048)", the issuer of the server's security certifcate (SSL error 61). Tried this:
sudo cp /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/* /opt/Citrix/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts suggested by this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CitrixICAClientHowTo and this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CitrixXenAppPlugin to import certificates, but none worked. So I think you could skip this step, but keep it in  mind.

Then searched more which got me to this page: http://techcell.chaseoriginal.com/technotes/install-citrix-receiver-on-64bit-ubuntu/ and used the following command:
sudo apt-get install nspluginwrapper

but the result of that told me it was already installed. Also I did not put the libmotif4 as the other had installed a libmotif. So not sure you need this step, but keep it in  mind.

I also used this:
sudo apt-get install libmotif4 flashplugin-installer curl nspluginwrapper ia32-libs libmotif4:i386

Which installed some more stuff, but did not fix the security issue. So I think you could also skip this step, but keep it in  mind.

Then went back to this page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CitrixXenAppPlugin which I had tried before and used again this commands but with these commands I ONLY used sudo where is written (initially tried with all the commands and did not work):

SOURCE_URI="https://www.entrust.net/downloads/binary/entrust_2048_ca.cer"
SOURCE_URI="https://www.entrust.net/downloads/binary/entrust_2048_ca.cer"
SOURCE_FN="$(basename ${SOURCE_URI})"

On this howto it suggested to use this command but it was not working therfore figure out that on my install the citirix client must have gotten placed somewhere else. Therefore looked for the folder/directory where ICAclient (citrix was installed) using this comand:
sudo find / -name 'ICAClient'

Got this:
/opt/Citrix/ICAClient

Then I made sure that the folder /keystore/cacerts existed within ICAclient and then put that on the following command:
TARGET_DIR="/opt/Citrix/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts"

Then
TARGET_FP="${TARGET_DIR}/${SOURCE_FN}"
sudo wget -c -O ${TARGET_FP} ${SOURCE_URI}

This following cmd is to list where the certificate was installed:
sudo ls -al ${TARGET_FP}

Then went to try again and it worked! so hope it works for you too, good luck! If this instructions helped and you feel like it you can donate! (see link on the side)

Install Xerox workcentre 5755 in ubuntu 12.04 lts

Posted on 9:51 AM by Unknown

Howto install Xerox workcentre 5755on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Installed Xerox workcentre 5755 by going to Xerox WorkCentre 5735/5740/5745/5755 Support & Drivers:

Then going to the Printer Model Package:
http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-5735-5740-5745-5755/file-download/enus.html?operatingSystem=linux&fileLanguage=en&contentId=118162&from=downloads&viewArchived=false

Then after download extract in the folder or a new folder (whichever) and that folder will have the ppd file needed to install. Then go to Ubuntu Dash Home type printing select printing

then go to add printer
select find network printer, then put the ip address of YOUR workcentre, select AppSocket/HP JetDirect, select Forward

Then select PPD file and browse to the folder where you extracted the downloaded file look for thee ppd folder then find the ppd file for your printer, myself I used the 5733 for the 5755.

Then this appears select what the printer options are if in doubt leave what the defaults are

Select Forward, this will show:

Rename as you wish, if you get some menu that states there are conflicts, I think is due to selecting options the printer does not have. At the end will ask you if you want to print test page and hopefully it will work for you as it did for me!

Pixma Canon IP2772 Printer - Cover is Open

Posted on 3:10 AM by Unknown
In Canon printer, if the cover is open, the printer cannot print its because the printer say's "the cover is open". So you can need to close it to run the printing.

But there's a way that your canon printer can print even your printer cover is open. It is usually use if the printer run heavy colored graphics for you to monitor the print out. And in trouble shooting the printer cartridges.

The steps to do this are:
  1. Open the printer cover and look for the hook which is located at the power and resume button if the cover is close. It because the hook is only the part of the printer, help the printer if it is closed or open. It is pushes the detector if it is closed.
  2. look any materials that looks like the printer hook and put it in the whole which the printer hook is in.

That's it! Your printer can print even it's cover is open.

Posted on 1:13 AM by Unknown
In my own experienced, I received the error which
"absorber is full" and the resume button continues blinking. I can print but every time I print a document I often need to long press the resume button.

So I reset it manually, I turn it off the printer and then I full the power cable, I press the power button steadily and I put the power cord it back. But I never release the power button, I continue pressing it. Then after that I press the resume button two times, and that's all.

My Pixma Canon IP2772 Printer now never display the error again.
